Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Kenichi Sasaki played in the 1990 Summer Koshien. He was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the second round of the 1991 NPB draft and he appeared in five games with the squad in 1993, going 0-0 with a 4.50 ERA.
He moved stateside after being loaned, along with Shigeki Noguchi, to the Colorado Rockies in 1994, pitching for the High-A Central Valley Rockies. In 27 games (four starts), he went 2-4 with a 4.67 ERA and in 52 innings, he struck out 55 batters, while walking 51. The Dragons recalled both players later in the year, releasing Sasaki in November 1995 having only pitched 5 games in his NPB career.
