Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Kenichi Aoshiba joined the Yomiuri Giants in 1934. When the Japan Baseball League began in 1936, he was 0-2, 6.75 in two games in the first spring season and 1-1, 1.29 in the fall. After three scoreless innings in the spring of 1937, Aoshiba was 2-1, 2.67 in 13 outings in the fall campaign. He pitched 3 2/3 innings in the spring of 1938, completing his career with a 3-4, 2.33 mark as a professional baseball player.

In the fall of '38, Aoshiba was drafted into the Japanese military, he died of disease in a military hospital in Pyongyang seven years later.
