Biographical information[edit]

Kelly Ahrens is a former minor league baseball catcher who played from 1989 to 1990 in the San Francisco Giants farm system.

Originally drafted by the Giants in the 20th round of the 1989 amateur draft, Ahrens started his professional career that same year with the Pocatello Giants. In 107 at-bats with them, he hit four home runs and drove in 19 RBI, en route to a .224 batting average.

He played his final professional season in 1990, while splitting time between the Bend Bucks and Clinton Giants. In 166 at-bats in 1990, he collected 36 hits for a .217 batting average. He also hit six home runs and drove in 16 RBI.

Overall, in his two years in professional baseball, Ahrens played in 98 games, collecting 60 hits in 273 at-bats for a .220 batting average. He hit 10 home runs and collected 35 RBI.

Nowadays, Ahrens works as a real estate agent and builder in Columbia, SC. [1]
