Biographical Information[edit]

Keith Grunewald is a player agent with clients including John Smoltz, Adam Everett and Mark DeRosa. He reached AA as a player.

Grunewald was picked by the Detroit Tigers in the second round of the 1990 amateur draft; he was the 59th pick overall. It was a compensation pick for the loss of Fred Lynn to free agency. Keith did not sign and went on to play at UNC. In 1993, he was second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference after hitting .267 and stealing 20 bases. The Colorado Rockies took him in the 12th round of the 1993 amateur draft.

Grunewald hit .275/.377/.368 for the 1993 Bend Rockies and fielded .965 at second base. He split 1994 between the Asheville Tourists (.268/.327/.369) and the New Haven Ravens (8 for 18). He fielded .939 at shortstop for Asheville.

In 1995, the Indiana native batted .265/.350/.367 with the Salem Avalanche while playing mostly third base. He split 1996 between Salem (.243/.293/.270 in 10 G) and New Haven (.227/.286/.301), now being used as a utility infielder. He hit .242/.296/.284 in 103 games as a utility infielder for New Haven.
