Biographical Information[edit]
Kazutoshi Yamahara pitched in NPB and the TML.
Yamahara was drafted by the Nippon Ham Fighters in the first round of the 1992 NPB draft, and he had a 4.82 ERA with 5 saves in his rookie year. He pitched 7 games with a 4.13 ERA in 1995, but his ERA rose to 5.82 in 16 games in 1997 after he missed the 1996 season due to injuries. Yamahara then stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in 1998, and his ERA was 6.29 in 16 games in 1999. He only pitched 4 more games with the big club in 2001, then the Fighters released him. Yamahara then signed with the Taipei Gida in 2002, and he notched 7 saves with a 5-5 record in 27 appearances. He announced his retirement after the 2002 season.
Overall, Yamahara was 5-11 with a 5.47 ERA, struck out 76 and pitched 131 2/3 innings in 5 years in NPB.
