Kazuhiko Miyakawa has played in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.
Miyakawa represented Japan in the 1990 Goodwill Games. The Taiyo Whales drafted him in the second round of the 1990 NPB draft. He played 22 games in his rookie year with a .105/.150/.105 batting line, then improved to .261/.292/.348 in 21 games in 1992. He spent the next three seasons mainly in the NPB Farm Leagues, only played 4 more games with the big club. Miyakawa hit .247/.283/.365 in 39 games in 1996, but the Whales demoted him and he only had 13 more appearances in the next three years. He was released after the 1999. He joined the Newark Bears of the Atlantic League in 2000 (hitting .249/.355/.352 and fielding .976 as their main second baseman), then announced his retirement after that season.
Overall, Miyakawa had hit .217/.252/.309 in 6 seasons in NPB.
