Biographical Information[edit]
Katsusaburo Asano was an outfielder and pitcher in Nippon Professional Baseball for Hankyu from 1936 to 1941.
He hit .233/.365/.293 with 122 hits in 523 at-bats. He earned the greatest playing time in 1940, when he batted .231/.354/.295 with 40 hits in 71 games (215 plate appearances).
On the mound, he was 24-22 with a 2.62 ERA in 71 games (51 starts). In 1938, he had a 1.77 ERA in 13 games (eight starts) and in 1940, he was 11-7 with 13 complete games, five shutouts and a 1.64 ERA in 27 games (24 starts). He threw a no-hitter that year.
