Biographical Information[edit]
Kamal Kithsiri has played for the Sri Lankan national team.
In the 2019 Asian Championship, he debuted in a blowout loss to Japan and was a clear bright spot. Relieving Naween Kasthuri Mudali with no outs in the first (all six having reached), he pitched two shutout innings of one-hit ball, with no walks and one strikeout before Tharidu Madumal took over; the rest of the staff gave up 15 runs in 2 1/3 IP in a mercy rule defeat. He started against Taiwan and lost to Po-Yu Chen. In 1 2/3 innings, he gave up four hits and seven runs (two earned); Saliya Wijesinghe replaced him. He closed out the win over Pakistan, relieving Madumal and allowing no hits or runs in 4 2/3 IP, walking one and fanning five. [1]
