Justin Cicatello played briefly in the independent leagues.
Cicatello hit .295 as a sophomore in junior college. Transferring to Pitt, he hit .213/.264/.298 in 2005 and fielded .881. As a pitcher, he allowed four runs in four innings. The next year, the senior was 1-1 with 3 saves and a 2.86 ERA and allowed a .200 average. He walked 21 in 34 2/3 innings. He had the lowest ERA on a Panther staff which included future minor leaguers Kyle Landis and Paul Nardozzi.
Cicatello signed with the Kalamazoo Kings for 2007 and was 0-2 with a 6.97 ERA with 11 walks in 10 1/3 innings. He moved to Italy's Parma club in 2010 and also made the Italian national team preliminary 28-man roster for the 2010 European Championship.
