Biographical Information[edit]

Julian Gonzalez did not play baseball either in college or professionally. He began his coaching career while a student at the University of North Florida. Initially Gonzalez was a UNF student softball manager during the 2016 season before moving up to a volunteer assistant softball coaching position for the Ospreys in 2017. He spent the 2018 season with the Bishop John J. Snyder High School Cardinals as an assistant softball coach. After completing his bachelor's degree in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies, Gonzalez worked as a hitting instructor with the Data Cage training facility for several months. From 1920-1921 Gonzalez coached high school baseball at Trinity Christian Academy. The first year he served in a dual role of JV head coach/Varsity assistant hitting coach. In 2021 he was the hitting coach and outfield coordinator for the Conquerors.

Gonzalez took a big step forward in his coaching career when the Baltimore Orioles hired him to coach hitters for the DSL Orioles Black in 2022-2023 and FCL Orioles in 2024.
