Juan Castillo (Dominican Republic)
Third baseman Juan Castillo (AKA Juancho) hit .286 for the Dominican national team that won Silver in the 1952 Amateur World Series. [1] In the 1954 Central American and Caribbean Games, he batted .286 again. He led the tournament with three doubles and won a Bronze. [2] He then played two seasons in the Dominican League, batting .231 the first year and .250 the second. [3] He married a star volleyball player, Celina Sanchez, and they had two children. [4]
