Biographical Information[edit]

Juan Brito saw big league action with the Kansas City Royals in 2002 and the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2004. In 63 games, he hit .216 with 3 home runs.

Brito was on the roster of the Dominican Republic for the 2009 WBC but did not play as Miguel Olivo and Alberto Castillo saw all the action at catcher. He was also on the roster of the 2006 squad, going 1 for 4 while splitting time with Castillo and Ronny Paulino.

Juan is the brother of fellow catcher Jorge Brito. There was some initial confusion due to questions about birthplace listings but a SABR researcher in the Dominican Republic confirmed that the two were brothers and hailed from the same hometown.
