Josh McDonald has been a college coach.
A first baseman during his student days at Georgia Southwestern, he was assistant coach at Georgia College and State University in 2007-2008 and Louisiana State University Eunice from 2009-2011. From 2012-2018, he was assistant at Georgia Southern University. He became head coach at Georgia Southwestern State in 2019.
