Biographical Information[edit]

Josh Bunselmeyer played college ball for one year at Northeast Texas Community College before transferring to Saint Louis University for his final three seasons. He graduated in 2016 with a degree in Health Sciences.

After graduation Bunselmeyer joined the Gateway Grizzlies in the independent Frontier League. He returned to the Grizzlies in 2017 to start the season before completing his playing career with a brief stint with the River City Rascals. In his two Frontier League seasons, Bunselmeyer hit .229/.306/.383 while appearing in 67 games. In both his college and professional careers he played mostly at second and third base.

Bunselmeyer then moved into coaching as an assistant coach for Jefferson College. In his first year he helped lead the team to a 54-12-1 record which qualified for the 2018 NJCAA Division I Baseball World Series. The team's 54 wins marked the most in the 50-year history of the program. Bunselmeyer continued as a Vikings coach through 2019.

The Baltimore Orioles hired Bunselmeyer to serve as a 2020 hitting coach for one of their DSL Orioles teams before COVID-19 shut down the minor league season. Subsequently he was the hitting coach for the DSL Orioles 2 in 2021, the FCL Orioles in 2022, Delmarva Shorebirds in 2023, and Bowie Baysox in 2024.
