Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Josephine D'Angelo played for the South Bend Blue Sox in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League in 1943 and 1944. She hit .221/.324/.271 with 53 steals and 62 runs in 104 games in the league's first season, while fielding .939. She tied Terrie Davis for 9th in the league in steals and tied Irene Hickson and Mildred Warwick for 7th in runs. She fell to .149/.216/.149 in 40 games the next year, though she did play error-free ball in 61 chances to lead AAGPBL flyhawks. Overall, she had batted .200/.295/.239 with 67 walks, 11 strikeouts, 73 runs, 47 RBI and 62 steals in 144 games while fielding .955. Following her baseball days, she was a physical education teacher in her hometown of Chicago.
