Biographical Information[edit]
Joseph Nicholson was a pitcher who signed with the Chicago Maroons of the Western Association in 1887 but was released before he could play a game with them. Despite not appearing in a single game with Chicago, he still has a card in the Old Judge set which features him in the team's uniform. After being released by the team, Nicholson signed with the Minneapolis Millers on May 18th. He won 3 games and lost 6 during his time there. The St. Paul Globe reports that he was released on June 26th.
Some sources have him listed as "J.W. Nicholson" for some reason.
