Biographical information[edit]
Jose Felix is a minor league catcher.
Felix debuted professionally in 2007 with the Tigres de Quintana Roo, hitting .247/.284/.304 and homered in his first at-bat as a pro baseball player. He played for the Mexican national team as a 19-year-old in the 2007 Baseball World Cup, starting slowly but finishing with a .370/.414/.444 batting line and getting the bulk of the duties behind the plate. He had better offensive numbers than the tourney's All-Star catcher, Sidney de Jong and easily outhit Ariel Pestano, the backstop for the Silver Medal winners from Cuba.
Felix signed with the Texas Rangers for 2008. He got off to a strong start with the Clinton LumberKings, hitting .333/.367/.402 in his first 30 games north of the border. He didn't remain hot, finishing the year with a .262/.300/.305 batting line in 88 games.
