Biographical Information[edit]
José Pérez hit .462/.533/.923 with two homers and five runs in four games for the Puerto Rican national team in the 1995 Intercontinental Cup; he had 9 assists and no errors or putouts at third base. He had the best OPS on their team. He later helped Puerto Rico win Gold at the 2002 Central American and Caribbean Games; it was their second baseball Gold ever at the Central American and Caribbean Games. He had over 500 career hits in Puerto Rico's top amateur league, where he played for over 20 years (some of those years as player-manager).
