Biographical Information

José Murillo IV was the grandson of José Murillo II and the son of José Murillo III.

Murillo was signed by Minnesota Twins scout Eric Espinosa in March 2009. He hit .188/.275/.225 in 28 games for the 2009 DSL Twins, with 6 runs and 7 RBI; he stole 3 bases in 4 tries. He fielded .897 at his main position, SS. In 2010, he was moved to the mound and went 1-0 with a save and a 5.87 ERA in 7 games. In 7 2/3 IP, he allowed 7 hits, 6 walks and 6 runs (5 earned) while hitting two batters and throwing two wild pitches; he did strike out nine.
