Biographical information[edit]
José Capellán was a left-handed minor league pitcher who played from 2006 to 2009.
He played in the Boston Red Sox organization from 2006 to 2007 after being signed by scout Robinson Garces. In 2006 with the GCL Red Sox, he appeared in 11 games, starting six of them. He posted a 2.81 ERA and a 5-1 record. In 2007, with the Lowell Spinners, he posted a 4-3 record in 14 games started. His ERA was 3.69. With the Greenville Drive in 2008, he was 3-6 with a 4.65 ERA in 15 starts. He was 6-4 with a 6.34 ERA in 29 games (16 starts) for the Salem Red Sox in 2009, his final season in affiliated ball.
Overall, Capellan was 17-14 with a 4.64 ERA in 69 games (51 starts).
