Biographical Information

Pitcher José López was drafted by the San Diego Padres from the Tampa Bay Rays in the 2022 Rule V Draft. However, he failed to make the Padres' roster out of spring training in 2023 and was returned to the Rays. It was with the Rays that he made his major league debut on June 10th that season, pitching two innings in relief in an 8-4 loss to the Texas Rangers.
