José Echarri
José Echarri was a star on the first Cuban national team, in the 1926 Central American Games. He hit third and manned third base, a position that would be filled by the likes of Omar Linares, Michel Enriquez and Yulieski Gurriel over the years. Echarri was 4 for 12 with 3 runs and handled 8 chances error-free at the hot corner. He tied for second on the team in hits, one behind Joaquin del Calvo and he hit one homer to tie Cándido Hernández for the lead.
