Biographical Information

José Cecena was signed by the Philadelphia Phillies as an amateur free agent in 1985. His brief big league action came with the Texas Rangers, who freed him from the Phillies farm system in the minor league phase of the 1986 Rule V Draft. José logged a 4.78 ERA with a save in his brief career, a 22 game (26 1/3 innings) stint in 1988.
