Biographical Information[edit]
José Amador played for the Ensenada Tigres, hitting .280/.338/.408 with 18 steals and 21 doubles in 95 games, scoring 60 runs. In the Year of the Pitcher, he was 6th in the Mexican Northern League in average (between Eduardo Cruz and Edgardo Tiburcio), 4th in steals, 2nd in doubles (one behind Vicente Peralta) and 9th in RBI. He fielded .913 in the outfield, his 17 errors pacing the loop by five. [1] In 1969, he was 5 for 17 with a triple. He later managed in Mexico and was the first Baja California Sur native to manage the Mexican national team, doing so in the 1978 Amateur World Series. [2]
