Jorge Ricardo Gallardo Figueroa
Biographical Information[edit]
Jorge Gallardo was an outfielder in Cuba in the 1980s and 1990s, playing for Pinar del Río. He hit .265/.387/.315 in 432 games, with 173 runs and 145 RBI. He fielded .949. He also pitched six games, going 0-2 with a save and a 6.97 ERA. He later coached for Pinar del Río then coached for the Cuban national team when they won Bronze in the 2015 Pan American Games. That winter, he became manager of Pinar del Río, taking them to the finals of the 2015-2016 Serie Nacional, where they fell in 7 games. He was canned after a 18-25 finish in 2016-2017, replacing by Pedro Luis Lazo.
