Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Jonathan Davis was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 15th round of the 2013 amateur draft out of the University of Central Arkansas. He is the brother-in-law of Anthony Alford.

He first reached the majors as a September call-up at the end of the 2018 season, when he hit .200 in 20 games. In 2019, he spent most of the season in AAA with the Buffalo Bisons, where he hit .262 in 82 games, with 19 doubles and 10 homers, scoring 64 runs. He also played 37 games for the Blue Jays, but hit just .181 with 2 homers and 6 RBIs, as the Blue Jays tried a number of players to be their fourth outfielder, without much success. He then spent the bulk of 2020 at the Blue Jays' alternate training site, but was called up on September 7th when RF Teoscar Hernandez went on the injured list. He was given a start in right field against the New York Yankees on September 8th and was the game's hero that night, connecting for a two-run homer off J.A. Happ that accounted for all of Toronto's runs in a 2-1 win.
