Biographical Information[edit]

Jonah Arenado is an infielder in the San Francisco Giants organization. He is the brother of major league third baseman Nolan Arenado.

Arenado was selected by the Giants in the 16th round of the 2013 amateur draft, out of high school, and began his career later that same year with the AZL Giants. The scout was Brad Cameron. He hit .211 in only 12 games, but the next season, 2014, he played 50 games as the team's regular third baseman and hit .250/.340/.304. He hit 10 doubles but no triples or homers, scored 20 runs and drove in 21. In 2015, he moved up to the Augusta GreenJackets of the South Atlantic League where he hit .264/.293/.367 in 134 games. His power picked up significantly, with 25 doubles and 9 homers, but his walk rate dropped precipitously, as he went from 21 walks in 184 at-bats to 24 in 523. Once again, he was the team's regular at third base.
