Biographical Information[edit]

Jon Poterson was drafted in the 1st round (34th overall) by the New York Yankees in 2004. He was signed by scout Mike Baker and made his pro debut that summer.

Poterson was drafted as a catcher but was moved to the outfield once he began to play in the pros. He struggled in three minor league seasons in the Yankee chain, never rising above A ball. Poterson then played in independent leagues in 2007-2009.
