Jhonny Pantoja made his minor league debut at age 16 with the 1994 Albany-Colonie Yankees, oddly starting out at AA. He was four yours younger than the next-youngest member of the club, Derek Jeter. Pantoja was 3-7 with a 4.57 ERA that season. The next year, he fell to 1-2 with a 6.48 ERA in 11 outings for the Norwich Navigators to end his pitching career almost as quickly as it started.
Pantoja managed the Colombian national team in the 2005 Baseball World Cup and coached for them in the 2008 Americas Baseball Cup and 2010 South American Games. He has also scouted for the Chicago White Sox.
