Biographical Information

Shortstop Johnny Manziel was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 28th round of the 2014 Amateur Draft. He had never played baseball in college, focusing solely on football after his junior year of high school.

Earlier that spring, the standout quarterback had been drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the first round (22nd overall) of the NFL draft. He won the Heisman Trophy in 2012.
