Biographical Information

Hard-throwing pitcher Johnnie Wittig played for the Baltimore Orioles of the International League in 1937 and 1938 before being purchased by the New York Giants late in the 1938 season. He played for the Giants in three of the next five years and ended his big league career in 1949, when he appeared in a single game for the Boston Red Sox.
