Biographical Information

John Schofield pitched in the minor leagues from 1984 to 1987. He began with a 3-1 record and a 3.83 ERA in 15 games (4 starts) for the GCL Rangers in 1984; in 42 1/3 innings, he allowed 24 walks and had 23 strikeouts. In 1985, back with the GCL Rangers, he was 5-4, 1.89 in 13 games (11 starts), before slipping to 2-11, 6.23 in 26 games (13 starts) for the Kinston Eagles in 1986. In 1986, he had 61 walks to just 51 strikeouts in 91 innings. Schofield went 6-4 with a 3.50 ERA in 37 games (3 starts) for the Port Charlotte Rangers to wrap up his career.

Overall, Schofield went 16-20 with a 4.05 ERA in 91 games (31 starts). In 282 1/3 innings, he allowed 281 hits and 154 walks (1.541 WHIP), while striking out 160 batters.
