Biographical information[edit]
John Rutter served as the interim head baseball coach at the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 1966. The Yellowjackets captured the Wisconsin State University Conference (WSUC) championship in his lone season at the helm. The team was inducted into the UW-Superior Athletic Hall of Fame in 1987.
Rutter received an associate degree from Virginia Junior College (now Mesabi Range College), a bachelor's degree from UW-River Falls, and a master's degree from Emporia State University.
He played football for UW-River Falls in 1955 and 1956.
