Biographical Information[edit]
John Reese was a long-time outfielder in the Negro Leagues, starting his professional career in 1918, before the formation of the Negro National League in 1920 and playing until 1931, after which the first NNL went under. For his last two seasons, he was a player-manager, leading the St. Louis Stars to back-to-back league championships.
