Pitcher John Pyecha appeared in just one big league game. On April 24, 1954, he came out of the bullpen for the Chicago Cubs against the Cincinnati Redlegs. Pyecha gave up a three-run homer to Wally Post with two outs in the 9th inning and was credited with the loss. He spent the remainder of the year in the Pacific Coast League and South Atlantic League and left baseball shortly thereafter.
After his playing career ended, Pyecha was an educator.
