John Martinac
John Martinac (sp?) was a rookie on the Oshkosh Giants (1953) of the Class D Wisconsin State League. He joined the team, I believe, after his H. S. graduation in Michigan (perhaps Iron Mountain, Michigan). So he was not on the team for the entire season. He was about average height for 1953, and of stocky build. He played mostly in the infield. As I remember it (I was a pitcher on the team) he did not play regularly. I remember him as a right-handed hitter, and he probably was a contact hitter for the most part. He may have continued a pro career after 1953, but I am not sure. We were part of the New York Giants minor league system.
