John Luthern pitched four years in the minor leagues, posting a composite record of 50-23. In 1953, John went 16-7, 2.90 for the Green Bay Bluejays, tied for third in the Wisconsin State League in wins and in the top five in ERA. In '54, John won 20 and lost 8 for the Sherbrooke Indiens while having a 3.26 ERA, leading the Provincial League in victories. In 1955, Luthern split the year between the Spartanburg Peaches (12-4, 2.23) and the Reading Indians (1-2). He finished up with the '56 Johnstown Johnnies with a 1-2 record.
