Biographical Information

John Leister was a three-year starter at quarterback for Michigan State University. He went to Alma College in 1994 as assistant football coach and assistant baseball coach. He became head baseball coach in 1997 and held the job until 2007 when he became the school's athletic director.

Leister went to camp with the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers but didn't make it out of training camp. He then played for the USFL's Michigan Panthers.
