Biographical Information[edit]
John Hessler was a minor league pitcher for a year. He was All-State in baseball in high school, but focused on football in college. He was the starting quarterback for the University of Colorado from 1995-1997. In 1998, he returned to baseball as a reliever for the AZL Rockies (4-0, Sv, 4.50 in 16 G, 16 BB, 13 K, 23 H in 28 IP). He was a middle school teacher in 2003 when he was the victim of a hit-and-run; he spent 33 days in a coma. He recovered and has been assistant baseball coach at Mountain Ridge High School.
