Biographical Information[edit]

John Gwosden played in the Pittsburgh Pirates minor league system from 1944 to 1945, then served in the US Army for a year and returned to the diamond from 1947 to 1948, batting .286 in 384 games. His .338 mark in 1944 led the PONY League that year.

After baseball, he ran a motel for 45 years.
