Biographical Information[edit]

John Guthrie was a 19th-round pick of the San Francisco Giants in the 1965 amateur draft. He hit .236/.292/.280 as a 2B/3B for the Magic Valley Cowboys that summer. In 1966, he batted .237/.340/.323 as a utility man for the Lexington Giants. After not playing in 1967, he hit .217/.300/.274 for the Medford Giants, primarily as an outfielder.

He served in the Vietnam War and worked in construction.
