Biographical Information[edit]

John Greason, who was born and died in Washington, D.C., was one of two pitchers on the Washington Blue Legs in 1873, with the other being Bill Stearns. Although the team went only 8-31, it featured the 18-year-old Paul Hines as its best-hitting regular.

John is the first major leaguer with the last name Greason.
