John Alexander Cross

Biographical Information[edit]

John Cross was an umpire in the National League in 1876 and 1878, working a total of 10 games. He was a collegiate catcher when he made his debut, then later worked in a textile mill. He worked the game in which Paul Hines may have turned his unassisted triple play.
