Biographical Information[edit]
John Cavanaugh (also referred to as "Johnny") played one game for the Philadelphia Phillies in 1919, shortly after he turned 19. Many years later, in 1937, he managed for part of a season. He was the first person born in the 1900s or in the 20th Century to come to the majors (based on the popular definition of the century that had it start on January 1, 1900).
