Biographical Information

John Beaven pitched in the minor leagues and for the British national team.

Born in London, he moved to the USA at age 5, where he found familiarity and comfort in playing catch with his father while settling into a new land. His father wound up dying on 9/11, having been on one of the hijacked planes. He signed with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays out of college, posting a 6.62 ERA in 17 games for the 2002 Hudson Valley Renegades with 24 BB in 17 2/3 IP. Pitching for Britain in the 2003 European Championship, he allowed three runs (two earned) in 3 2/3 IP. He later became VP of Ticket, Sales and Service for the NBA's Golden State Warriors.
