After serving in the Navy during World War II, catcher John Bargas played several seasons of minor league baseball. He split 1946 between the West Palm Beach Indians (5 for 25), Seaford Eagles (under 10 games) and the Gainesville G-Men (10 for 45, 2B, 5 BB). He hit .205 and slugged .248 in 34 games for the 1947 Moultrie Packers, then was 14 for 75 with a triple for the '48 Dothan Browns. He wrapped up in 1951, going 12 for 62 with two doubles for the Tallahassee Citizens. Following his baseball days, he went to law school and later practiced law for many years.
