Biographical Information[edit]

John Bagonzi was initially signed by the Boston Red Sox in 1953, but faced military obligations and served in the Korean War before he could suit up. Upon his return from the military, he pitched briefly for the Class-D Corning Red Sox in 1956, going 0-1 in two appearances, thus ending his playing career.

He was busy following his playing days: He earned a Ph.D. from Indiana University, was Woodsville High School's baseball coach for over 30 years, spent one season and part of another as Plymouth State College's head coach, owned Bagonzi’s Restaurant, wrote the books The Inner Sanctum: Mastering the Act of Pitching and The Act of Pitching: A Tutorial for All Levels by a Master Technician-Detailing Every Aspect of Pitching and ran the website PitchingProfessor.com.

He is a member of multiple halls of fame, including the University of New Hampshire Athletic Hall of Fame and the New England Basketball Hall of Fame.

He also played basketball while at the University of New Hampshire.
