Biographical Information[edit]
Joel Tierce played in the minors and managed Team USA.
Tierce hit .276/?/.356 for the 1936 Moultrie Packers, fielding .927 at short. With the same team in 1938, he batted .282/.353/.337, stealing 23 bases and fielding .904 while manning third primarily. He played second for the 1939 New Bern Bears, fielding .949 and hitting .264. He was managing the Eastern Air team in Florida when they were chosen to play as Team USA in the 1942 Amateur World Series rather than send a team of the top US amateurs from around the country.
