Joe Wiwchar

Joe Wiwchar was born on December 26, 1935 in Winnipeg, MB. He devoted a lifetime to promoting baseball in his home province of Manitoba, first as a player, and later as a coach, volunteer, executive and administrator. He is most famous for coaching for six decades, at various levels from pee-wee to senior, from 1953 to 2013. He helped form the Manitoba Baseball Association in 1968 and was its President in 1976 and 1977. He also served on the executive committee of Baseball Canada in 1974 and 1975 and worked as a volunteer in various children's tournaments.

He was inducted in the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2023.
