Casimir Joseph Lubas (Father of Italian Baseball)

Biographical Information[edit]
Joe Lubas came to Italy in 1948 to help start baseball in that country after World War II. He was a player-coach in Italy through 1956 and played a key role in forming the first Italian baseball federation. He was elected to the Italian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007, a year prior to his death.
